LEGO Friends 41016 Advent Calendar

The LEGO Friends 41016 Advent Calendar from 2013 brings the festive countdown to Heartlake City, with a buildable surprise hidden behind each of its 24 numbered doors.

The story follows Stephanie on her journey to the Christmas market. She rides her snow scooter past wintry scenery, stops to pick up presents and snacks, and takes time out for some ice skating along the way. Each day reveals another small build, and the collection includes a sled, a snowman, ice skates, a brown squirrel and a Christmas tree, as well as market and street details such as a bench and a lamppost.

Two mini-doll figures are included, Stephanie and Lily, and both were unique to this set when it was released. By Christmas Eve, the small builds come together into a cheerful winter scene that children can use for festive role play or set out as a seasonal decoration.

The calendar contains 213 pieces and was designed for ages 5 to 12. It was created by LEGO designer Bas Brederode and was only on sale for the 2013 festive season, from September to December, which makes it a nostalgic find for Friends collectors today. Like all LEGO Friends sets, the pieces are fully compatible with standard LEGO bricks, so the builds can join an existing Heartlake City layout or a wider LEGO winter village.

We think it makes a charming way to count down to Christmas for a young Friends fan, and a lovely piece of LEGO history for collectors who remember the original mini-doll era. Long since retired by LEGO, it is now hard to find, and we are delighted to be able to add it to our Friends collection.
