The Nutcracker was distributed to LEGO employees as part of their annual Christmas gift in 2017. As 2017 marked LEGO's 40th anniversary of the Technic sets, the Nutcracker is primarily a Technic set.

The box itself is shaped like a mini guardhouse for the Nutcracker to reside in. Once the build is completed, there’s a lever at the back of the build to activate the nutcracking movement which also moves arms and mouth.

It's also a large set in terms of size standing at about 20 inches / 50cm tall.
